Newly Formed Bee Better Inc., Names Helen Yoest Director
Raleigh, NC (June 15, 2016)—Bee Better is pleased to announce its formation as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) (pending), based in Raleigh North Carolina. Bee Better’s mission is to help homeowners build better backyards for birds, bees, & butterflies throughout Ecoregion 231, Southeastern Mixed Forest Province, including the States of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and parts of Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Maryland.
As an educational foundation, Bee Better will share information through a new website, www.BeeBetter.info, workshops held at the JC Raulston Arboretum, speaking engagements to Ecoregion communities, and community outreach, as well as private and public tours. Funding for Bee Better will be through individual donations, corporate sponsors, and bird and pollinator tours, with the first one scheduled in Raleigh and Cary, September 10, 2016, from 10-4.

About the Director:
Helen Yoest holds a B.S. & M.S. degrees in Environmental Engineering and Science and received the Sustainability Award for her home landscape, Helen’s Haven, from the City of Raleigh in 2015. Yoest is a life-long outdoor enthusiast. She has published three books on gardening and writes for Meredith Corporation, Time Inc., and many others.
As an award-winning journalist, Helen will bring to life birds, bees, and butterflies with timely local posts. Helen is the owner of Gardening with Confidence since 2001, a former member of the JC Raulston Arboretum Advisory Board, past Regional Representative of the Garden Conservatory Open Days tour, and an honorary member of the Pi Alpha Xi honor society for floriculture, landscape horticulture, and ornamental horticulture.
